Our Blackline body jewellery that we offer here is surgical grade stainless steel imported from USA. Blackline titanium-look products have a titanium physical vapour deposition (pvd coating) to give its black appearance at a more affordable price.
Titanium is very expensive but it is half the weight of any other metal, twice as strong and 100% biocompatible. To reduce costs whilst still retaining "the titanium factor", our Blackline body piercing jewellery items are surgical stainless steel with a titanium pvd coating. We do not sell pure titanium jewellery on this site at this time.
PVD refers to the process of Physical Vapour Deposition. PVD is often used to produce implant-grade and autoclavable body jewellery that is black.
Biocompatible titanium coating is vapourised in an arc then electrically deposited on stainless steel body jewellery.
